Undergraduate FHS students contribute to the advancement of knowledge
During the inaugural UROP Symposium, FHS students who participated in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UORP), thus benefiting from a one-on-one relationship with established faculty researchers and experiencing university research activities first hand, presented their findings and shared their experiences with the University community.

A former professor at the School of Nursing is appointed to the Order of Canada
The Faculty of Health Sciences is proud to announce the appointment of Shirley Post, a retired nurse, as Member to the Order of Canada (C.M.) for her contributions to improved health care for children. Post taught in the School of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences and was the assistant director of the School of Nursing at the Ottawa General Hospital before becoming the first director of nursing at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) when the facility opened in 1974. She went on to co-found the Canadian Institute of Child Health. The Order of Canada, one of our country’s highest civilian honours, recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation.
