    CONFERENCE - BrainTalks 2014

    The Faculty of Medicine class of 2017 Charity Committee is pleased to present the BrainTalks 2014 Conference, which will be held on March 1st in Amphitheater A, Roger-Guindon Hall. This conference presents a multi-disciplinary approach to brain injury prevention, treatment and recovery. The curriculum will appeal to medical, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and science students, as well as health care. Please go to the registration web page to purchase your tickets.

    Food security in Canada’s North

    For the 700 residents of Fort Providence, a small community in Canada’s Northwest Territories, food security is an issue: freezing temperatures make it difficult to hunt, fish and find nutrient-dense foods during the winter months. To respond to this ongoing problem, human kinetics student Meagan Ann O’Hare travelled to the village last year to help implement the Wild Foods Snack Program, thanks in part to Students for Canada’s North scholarship sponsored by the Centre for Global and Community Engagement.
