Early History 1896 - 1933
Grey Nuns of the Cross (now known as Sisters of Charity of Ottawa) established d'Youville School of Nursing at the Ottawa General Hospital in 1896. The nuns wished to prepare nurses to provide humane care for patients within a Catholic educational milieu. English was the language of instruction until 1921.
