Online exhibits: Symbol of a Profession: 100 Years of Nurses' Caps,
Canadian Nursing History Collection Online
The Museum of Civilization has hundreds of pins and caps, plus many nurses’ uniforms, and thus is closing its collection of these materials. Male nurses’ uniforms from the 1960s and 1970s, however, would still be welcomed, as would such items as government-issue parkas or other parts of northern nurses’ uniforms. It is important that all artifacts come with photographs and a story. For more information, please contact Tina Bates, Assistant Director, History and Archaeology, Canadian Museum of Civilization, P.O. Box 3100, Station B, Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, J8X 4H2. Phone: 819 776-8362; Fax: 819 776-8300; or email: christina.bates@civilization.ca.
