Interdisciplinary Joint Appointment to the Honours Baccalaureate in Nutrition Sciences Program
We invite everyone interested in a joint appointment to the Honours Baccalaureate in Nutrition Sciences Program to apply. The responsibilities associated with a joint appointment will depend on the interests of the selected candidates. The duties generally include supervising interns in different settings, teaching and research. The positions approved by the University of Ottawa are described in Appendix A.
Such an appointment offers several advantages for consultants, including participation in internal academic activities, eligibility for Sports Services, access to campus professionals and to the library. Consultants can also take part in the Program Committee and be invited to sit on other committees.
It should be noted that joint-appointees must have an agreement with their primary employer with respect to the availability within their regular duties of time to carry out the cross-appointment responsibilities without undue hardship.
Interested individuals must submit a joint appointment proposal to the Director of the honours baccalaureate in nutrition sciences using the form below.
Selection criteria
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- A provincial licence/authorization to practice in that discipline (for example, dietitian).
- Appropriate professional experience (minimum of one year) relevant to the purpose and role proposed for the joint appointment.
- A letter of reference from the director or representative of the organization where the candidate is employed. (Self-employed individuals should include a letter of reference).
