Biography
I am an associate professor in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.
My areas of interest and research include the learning processes of coaches and athletes,
psychological preparation, in particular within the environment of World Championships and
Olympic Games, stress and burnout in Olympic level coaches, issues facing women coaches,
values and ethics in sport and physical activity, and the use of biofeedback and neurofeedback
for enhancing the performance of athletes and coaches. I work with a number of national coaches,
athletes and teams in their preparation for the Olympics. I sit on a number of national
committees for sport science and for sport psychology. I teach an undergraduate course in
sport and exercise psychology, and graduate courses in values and ethics, and organizational
behavior and group dynamics. I present regularly at national and international conferences on
coaching, on women and coaching and physical activity, and am a member of the ICCE,
International Counsel for Coach Education. I am also the Chair of the Review Committee
for the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (www.cspa-acps.ca).
