Biography

Doctor Sébastien Boyas has received his Ph.D. in Sports Sciences from the University of Nantes (France).

The field of research of doctor Boyas is mainly focused on neuromuscular fatigue and its influences upon muscle electrical activity and muscle coordination. So, he works on the prediction of endurance time of a fatiguing task from the early changes in electromyographic signal. Sébastien Boyas leads researches about the determination of respective parts of central and peripheral fatigue in the drop of force production capacity induced by an exhaustive task. Sébastien Boyas is also interested in the muscle solicitations induced by sport activity and in the effects of training on the physical performances, muscle recruitment and capacity to cope with fatigue. He works as well on the influence of fatigue on posture and movement control.

Sébastien Boyas is currently replacement professor at the University of Ottawa and teaches in the field of physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, training and nutrition.
