BiographyAn alumna from the University of Ottawa (BScN 1975), Dr. Legault returned to Ottawa in 2001 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing with teaching responsibilities in community health and palliative care. She holds a Masters of Science in Community Health Nursing from D`Youville College, Buffalo NY (1990) and a PhD in Nursing from the University of British Columbia (2001). Her career includes progressive leadership positions in acute care and community health nursing comprising practice, education, and research. Dr. Legault is an associate with the Elisabeth Bruyère Research Institute, Palliative Care Research Group, and a co-investigator on the CIHR New Emerging Team for End-of-Life Care for Seniors. Building on her doctoral studies and strength in qualitative methods, Dr. Legault's program of research is based on accessible, appropriate, and integrated community-based models for palliative care services for underserved and marginalized populations. Dr. Legault is also an executive member of the CHPCA Nurses Group and leading initiatives to build capacity for nursing research in palliative care. |
