Rehabilitation Sciences student Laurianne Loew receives first Ontario Physiotherapy Association Award

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Health Sciences and the Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA) are proud to present the first OPA Award to PhD candidate Laurianne Loew (MScS, 2010). Generously created by the Eastern Ontario District of the OPA, the scholarship recognizes and helps support a student studying in the PhD program in Rehabilitation Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa, whose background is in physiotherapy.
Laurianne Loew, who is now in her first year of the PhD program in Health Sciences, received her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Health Sciences last year.
For over 20 years, the Eastern Ontario District of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association has been hosting its annual Ottawa Physio Race to celebrate the launch of National Physiotherapy Month (May) in the National Capitol. The event welcomes local community support for national physiotherapy research, as well as a variety of local charities linked to rehabilitation services or physiotherapy patient populations. The Eastern Ontario District is pleased to donate a portion of race proceeds towards supporting future doctoral students in rehabilitation sciences.
