Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy
Word from the Director
The Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy program is offered over six consecutive sessions (three trimesters a year), i.e., two years full time; it consists of 60 course credits and 1,000 hours of fieldwork.
The program is superior in both content and teaching methodology. Special attention has been paid to pedagogical aspects of the program to promote learning procedures that empower students and foster academic success. Innovative elements of skills development-centred training programs have been integrated into the design of the master’s program, taking into account the occupational skill requirements of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the academic requirements of the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies (OCGS).
Bilingualism is a key element of the program. It ensures that we will fulfil our mandate to train health care workers who can offer services in French to Franco-Ontarians and also offer services in English in a reality in which French-speaking people are most often a minority. Because of our geographical location, the fieldwork placements available to students will often be conducted in both official languages.
Our team of professors is enthusiastic and shows leadership through commitments in various faculty development projects.
