Biography
Martin Bilodeau obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Université de Montréal) in 1988. He pursued graduate studies at the Université de Montréal and obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Science (Rehabilitation) in 1993. He then took postdoctoral training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, USA, from 1993 to 1995. He began his academic career at the University of Iowa where he was an assistant professor from 1996 to 2002, then associate professor to 2004 before returning to Canada. He has been at the University of Ottawa since April 2004. Dr. Bilodeau teaches in the Physiotherapy Program and his research laboratory is located at the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Centre (SCO Health Service). His research work focuses primarily on normal and pathological aging, muscle fatigue, and movement control.
