Master of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy
Professional Portfolio
The physiotherapy student portfolio holds a series of documents that students produce gradually throughout their program until graduation. They write their most significant training experiences for each course and clinical placement and their thoughts on the links between the course content and clinical placements in the same block, then for the whole program. As the portfolio takes shape, students assess and analyze their learning methods, and ultimately record suggestions on how to improve them. The portfolio allows students and teachers alike to evaluate how well the foundations of the master's in physiotherapy program have been understood. For example: (1) factual practice of physiotherapy; (2) client-centred intervention approaches; (3) technical clinical competence and skills; (4) motivation for and commitment to the transfer of knowledge; (5) capacity for continuous independent learning.
The content of the portfolio complements the information in students’ grade-based transcript. In the end, with a complete, well-organized portfolio, they are better able to promote their abilities and personal potential to future employers.
