Interprofessional University Clinic in Primary Health Care
History
The implementation and ongoing activities of this clinic were made possible through financial assistance of the Société santé en français (Health Canada), the Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS), and Health Force Ontario (a joint initiative of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities), and more recently (2010) the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion.
The University Interprofessional Clinic receives continuous support of the dean and president of the University of Ottawa. The clinic is the result of an initial cooperation between three schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences (Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Kinetics and Nursing), the Faculty of Medicine, the Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS) and a number of Ottawa health care institutions, for which this clinic meets a need for community services.
Other partnerships developed throughout the years include educational programs such as the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences from the Faculty of Health Sciences, the School of Social Work of the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as the programs in Social Services Techniques in Gerontology and Assistant to the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist from La Cité Collégiale.
